About agcl
agclimited (agcl)
agcl is the business name under which Andy Gudgeon practises. My aim is to promote business success through the fast track development of individuals and teams, using executive coaching, facilitation, business psychology and leading leadership seminars and workshops. And, through leading other bespoke people-skills seminars or workshops. . My purpose is to be a catalyst for meaningful transition, change and transformation.
What is it I do?
My expertise is in fast track people development
This desire to lead often comes from a sense that things could be different in some way. Often this want develops into a vision that provides the direction, inspiration and momentum to do things differently - to change or transform things. And, in the context of a business, when this vision becomes shared with other people it forms the foundations for teamwork, and when shared with many it forms the foundations for organisation - more about this later.
If we consider that the primary tool of any leader has in leading and building a world to which others want to belong is themselves – indeed their own inner resources - then my business is your success in becoming a leader through the development of these inner resources, so that you can lead and enrol others - outer resources - through influence and collaboration to create a “world” to which they would like to belong.
So who are the people I work with who want to be leaders?
Who are these people?
The people I work with most often work in organisations. They include executives, directors, senior managers, middle managers, project managers, and professionals from both the private and public sectors, and from small, medium and multinational businesses. I also work with many non-business people too.
And, what is it that most of these people want to do? Many want to do things differently – to change, and in many instances transform themselves or their businesses or both. So let’s look at doing things differently.
Doing things differently
In doing something differently something has to change. Let’s consider the notion of change. Consider there are two types of change. Remedial change is when someone has a problem. They may say, “I lack the confidence to challenge the gap in performance of a member of my team.” Others might say, “I’m a good leader, but I’d really like to be a better one.” This is generative change - taking a strength and making it even better or broadening a skill so it is effective in even more situations. In both examples of change, knowing what you want to change and knowing how to go about changing it requires a special approach.
In its simplest form imagine that your need, say to be an impactful leader, can be summarised as:
Impactful Leader = Potential to be an Impactful Leader – Barrier(s) to being an Impactful Leader
How I can make a difference to you is to enable you to create solutions to overcome the barriers facing you, and so release your potential - to change or transform yourself, or your business or both. And, then I support you in sustaining and developing your potential, and building your leadership capability even further. This in essence is what I do, but how do I do what I do?
How do I do what I do?
I do what I do through 1:1 coaching, facilitation, and facilitation of real-time leadership development, the application of business psychology and other types of bespoke leadership seminars and workshops. The foundations of my coaching, facilitation, business psychology and seminars and workshops are based on rigorous training, research, and business, functional and project leadership and management experience. I offer a unique combination of people skills and processes based on my knowledge of psychology, business psychology, Psychological Type, coaching psychology, depth coaching, co-active coaching, solution focused coaching, conversational coaching, performance coaching, developmental coaching, leadership coaching, facilitation, hypnotherapy and trance, neuro-linguistic programming, accelerated learning, clean language, symbolic modelling, metaphor, story telling, emotional intelligence, transactional analysis, systems thinking, leadership, management, and the EFQM business excellence model. With such resources my approach is both pragmatic and eclectic. And, I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that these resources will be available to you, when we work together. And, there are additional benefits.
