Why Andy Gudgeon?
Why engage Andy Gudgeon? What makes me credible? For those of you in a hurry, four possible reasons that make me credible (in alphabetical order): business and life experience, expertise, style, track record of success. Even more detail? Now, for those who may want to know more, please read on.
Credibility – Academic and Professional Training
I have undertaken rigorous academic and professional training, and I am actively engaged in my own continuous professional development - as a client you’ll want me to know my stuff and be constantly building this, will you not? My Practice is underpinned and guided therefore by an extensive foundation of research, academic and professional training. I am:
a graduate of the University of Leeds where I gained a first degree in Psychology with Honours a graduate of the University of Aston where I gained a postgraduate masters degree in Applied Psychology a graduate of the University of London where I gained a postgraduate masters degree in Medical Statistics a chartered psychologist, a chartered scientist (I have published some twenty five or so peer reviewed papers, chapters and book reviews), an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of its Division of Teachers and Researchers in Psychology, Division of Occupational Psychology, and Special Group for Coaching Psychology Level A and full Level B qualified in Occupational Testing a graduate of an International Coach Federation accredited training organisation (ITS) a fully accredited Coach with the Association for Coaching an Alpha Leadership Coach an accredited Facilitator a registered Hypnotherapist (I have a Diploma in Hypnotherapy) a certified Practitioner and Master Practitioner in NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) a certified Practitioner in Time Line trained in the use of Clean Language and in Symbolic Modelling a qualified educator. I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education, and a Teaching Certificate in Adult Education. a registered practitioner in Higher Education a practitioner in Systems Thinking and Practice a trained Statistician (no longer Chartered, or a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society as I no longer Practise) a qualified Recruitment Consultant an industry trained Manager and International Project Manager
Credibility – Experience
My Practice is grounded in my own experiences of holding senior appointments in industry (pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical services, recruitment), in small, medium and multinational organisations, during which time (over twenty years) I gained significant experiences of (in alphabetical order): business, business development, coaching, international project management, leadership, management, (the) professions, research, and training and development.
As the Director of agcl, I have enjoyed making a difference to individuals, teams and organisations, having worked with:

And, I continue (and have done so for the past twenty years in fact) to be a part-time University Lecturer in both Psychology and Psychometrics, thus keeping up-to-date with developments in both subjects.

Credibility - Other Good Stuff
I am married with three children and two cats. We live near London in the UK I have a great family, friends, clients and network of like minded colleagues My style in several words (in alphabetical order): accepting, analytical, business aware, calm, challenging, congruent, creative, developing, empathic, focused, forward thinking, humour, intuitive, leading, learning, optimistic, positive, systems thinker I am an avid reader of a wide range of books, journals and magazines - business and non-business As a schoolboy I was a National Judo Champion. If the “Inner Game” is familiar to you, I have first hand experience of winning this game I am a Shodan (Black Belt) in both Judo and Jujitsu I love going to my weekly Yoga class
